>..however, a weak groan indicated that one of the assassins still lived.
>Garriot, ignoring the still-bleeding arrow wound in his shoulder, strode
>purposefully over to the wounded assassin and grabbed him by the tunic.

>"Why were you trying to kill us?," he demands harshly, "Who sent you? Answer
>me!" A hand on his shoulder causes him to look up; Mardan is standing over
>him.

>"Easy, Garriot," he says, "I think he's under some sort of spell. Look," he
>points to the blank expression on the man's face.

>Garriot nods slowly, the rage fading from his countenance. "I think you're
>right," he says. "Can anyone besides Kyleen dispel charms? I don't think
>she's up to it right now..."

"Let me have a look at him," says Zebron, as he strides over to the limp
figure. The drow examines the man, and sees that once brought out of the
charm, he would be in no condition to try to flee or do harm. Not that he
would have the chance, the drow thinks, seeing that all the party would be
surrounding him.

"Well, while Khisanth wields magic that takes quite a toll, this is a simple
spell for me..." Zebron says, and soon he beings to mumble. The dark elf
then snaps his fingers, and the light returns to the man's eyes.

"Alright, he'll now be able to talk to you," Zebron says, then leans in closer
to Garriot and whispers something about not being able to verify the answers.

"And I'd hurry. Without healing he'll soon perish."

The dark elf then walks amongst the wounded, pulling out arrows for Kyleen to
reuse, picking out valuables and coins, and solemnly slicing the heads off of
the slain as he sings to himself.

Zebron notices Alaric looking at him strangely, but only shrugs and says,
"Force of habit."

The drow then walks closer to the ranger, saying, "When I was young I ran
across some treatises on necromancy. Severing the heads makes the corpses
harder to animate. Just a precaution, you understand."

"Alaric," Zebron continues, "is this normal for Khisanth? Dusk is very worried
and it's starting to get to me, as well."
