Greysdale hit the ground for the second time in as many seconds like a sack of potatoes, only a lot harder and colder, which was probably a bad thing, he thought, for the person who happened to be under him. Of course, a sack of potatoes would have just sat there all potatoesque, which was what Greysdale felt like doing, but felt THAT would be bad for all those involved with the possible exception of the slavering beast rapidly approaching from ahead. As he fumbled about the pile of limbs for his sword, Greysdale became in- creasingly aware that he wouldn't be able to untangle himself from his new- est ally without causing one of them grievous bodily harm, either by pulling free regardless of what had to be pulled through, or by going it slow and letting the beast have free shots at him. Fortunately, they had Motley's ignorance on their side. Unaware that the wererat at his feet would be up and around in mere moments unless dispatched with magic or silver, he sought to help his fallen friend. A burst of green light enveloped the wolf, increasing to blinding intensity as the beast's howl soared to a crescendo of agony before stopping abruptly, the creature's charred bones exploding and showering the adventurers with sparks and fragments. "Whoa!" cried Motley, staring in disbelief, "THAT wasn't 'Hold Person', guess we had little wild surge huh?" -But what about the other 'rat? lzurawsk@ux4.cso.uiuc.edu
