Serene, you might want to > call the Mists to keep the inn from burning." Without another word, Luthor > ran out of the front door to deal with the elementals. Firecat the Gnome grabbed his things upon hearing the call for battle. Shadow, his wolf-companion woke from his nap under Firecat's table to follow his master...into death if need be. "No Shadow, stay!" Shadow sat, but looked nervous. When Firecat took a step toward the door, Shadow followed. "NO, STAY!" At this, Shadowed began whining loudly. Realizing that Shadow would disobey his commands, Firecat guided her by the scruff of her neck, up the stairs and to his room. There, he locked her in. He felt guilty, but he had to do it. She had no special protection from the elements as he did. The elementals would quickly destroy her and he would not be able to stop them. As Firecat charged back down the stairs and out the door, he noticed that some of the other patrons were preparing to do the same. Upon reaching the door, Firecat shifted into his namesake...a four foot long tiger, covered in flames. He bounded out the door, past some of the slow moving earth-men, toward his target, the Fire elemental. When he was within twenty feet, Firecat lept into the air at the head of the elemental. A moment later, they were wrestling on the ground. Firecat tried to rake with his claws, but found his enemy to be less than solid. In turn, the elemental found his flame attacks useless against a fellow creature of fire. The stalemate was temporarily broken when Firecat managed to push the elemental away. It flew back and crashed into a wooden cart that was a pile of red coals a moment later. As Firecat readied for another attack, bitter cold struck him, knocking him into a daze. As he recovered, he was hit again. His normally roaring fires reduced to a mere flicker, Firecat looked for the source of the cold...and found it. The Water elemental was directing streams of his essence at Firecat, an extremely powerful weapon in his current form. Feeling weak, Firecat shifted back into his Gnome form and drew an axe. He shifted his attention toward his watery enemy and charged in that direction. Love and Peace and Watery Graves, -The Dreamer- Love and Peace and Watery Graves, -The Dreamer-
