" Excuse me but can I have my body back now if your finished using it?
I would like to go back to my forest, and I don't fancy taking on something that
big with this hole you put in me letting all my essence slip out, very naughty
of you that is".
A shape began forming from out of the blood pooled on the ground. It
matched Melandra's sylphen body without the large gash in her leg and the burns
and bruises that were scattered over her body. It was slightly insubstantial
as the small earth elementals could be seen attacking someone trying to defend
the Inn from their blows. She could see he had problems by the way he swung his
sword defensively and she knew she had the means to help him. Sanity pushed, and
her mind focussed on the fight beside the Inn ignoring the chaos all around her
and the creations of her Madness.

Within her the 2 figures gazed at one another across the chasm. All the
demons and ghosts that were being used to empower their host were being reigned
in by Sanity's helpers and pulled back down into the chasm.
"You always try to just push things a little too far, and gain a little
more ground for your side. Well, as ever you shall not prevale!" A strain
appeared on the face as some form of order and focus was restored to the
tortured Elf's mind, but the strain of the continued opposition showed on both
sides of the chasm as small bits of rock toppled into the absence of colour that
was the Void. Their battle was allowing it too grow, and as it grew Melandra
came closer to death.

********************************************************************************

Uttering three words softly to herself she conjured a stream of tiny
burning spheres that flew straight at the earth elementals impacting on their
backs and burning as each one flowed across their backs. Then again a set of the
immolating balls of fire burst over the elementals melting bits of them to a
molten slurry that dropped hissing to the ground. This was followed quickly by
a few of the elementals as the damage they had sustained overwhelmed them. Now
it was the Earth's turn to feel the fire.
Turning, she saw the sylph 'ghost' becoming more real by the second and
tried to getaway from it by floating upwards. From the door of the Inn, all that
could be seen was the sylphen form Melandra had taken float upwards to 15 feet
off the plaza's surface whilst a peculiar glow started appearing from her feet.
As she concentrated on Earth, he appeared to float into the air whilst
jerking its arms and legs. Although the first Air elemental was holding Earth
off the ground, Melandra never even noticed it as she began drawing in her
power to deliver a huge blast, her gods wrath.
The voice of the 'Ghost' sylph started drawing closer as it floated
upwards towards 'its body' leaving a thin wispy cord extending into the pool of
blood that lay on the plaza floor. "Don't do it, thats my body, I don't want it
hurt any more than it is now...Hey....I can't do that you know...".
Melandra tried to concentrate as the 'sylph' tried to stop her casting
but she held her purpose and picked her spot for the explosive force she would
be hurling. Her hands gestured and a bright orange disc came into existence and
started whirling round and round till there was a bright flaming sphere hanging
in the air in front of her figure. It glowed orange and white with periods of
intensity bringing on a blue tint to the flames. It sped across the plaza
exploding under Earth's chin and enveloped Earth. It also hit Air who was badly
hurt by the searing fire despite the cover it got from Earth. Both elemetals
were thrown backwards landing with satisfying crashes on the stone floor.
The globe of fire expanded outwards pushing a wave of super heated air
in front of it as the noise of the explosion shook and broke windows in the
windows around the plaza. As the wave of air hit Melandra it threw her backwards
and slightly down towards the ground. Stabilising her position above the ground
she noticed the ghost coming towards her, but now it looked compleetly like a
sylph. Confusion reigned as she tried to understand what was happening. "This
cannot be your body, my magic desnt work that way....or at least I dont think
it does???" With that last questioning tone, she fell.
The Rabble saw her throw the fireball and then they felt the heat hit
them in the door. The sylph stopped its descent, turned to its side and
shouted something they couldn't hear. As the sentence came to an end, the glow
that had slowly been enfolding her legs swept up over her to totally encompass
her body, as doubt brought mental failure, and the body of and Elf fell to the
ground with not even the pain from her broken leg smashing into the stone
Plaza floor causing any sort of noise.
For Mel, there was a sharp pain in her head and then a pain in her leg.
Although she tried to yell in pain all she managed was a small wimper as the
lights went out on her.

Both figures now watched as they tried to repair each side of the chasm
and staunch the flow or rock into Void. They dropped with an alarming rate and
all the pair could do was try to halt any more damage. Yet the Void had grown as
the pair had battled and now it was wider than ever.
