Message-ID: Date: Fri, 11 Dec 1992 17:47:10 GMT >"Peace, good sir.", Khisanth said, trying to project soothing thoughts. Mathew strode toward the murderers table. The fair lady put her hand down to calm the strange looking cat. Not an action a guilty party would ordinarily take. "Peace," Mathew spit out in anger. "What peace is there when gentle farmers are murdered" >"You must be from the village..... I think that perhaps you should hear all of >the story as we know it, and perhaps you may be able to help us puzzle out this >mystery." "I will hear what you have to say, but don't try anything funny. The local militia is on its way." Mathew said in a calmer voice. He wiped the mist from his eyes. >She pulls a chair from a nearby table, and beckons him to take a seat. She >offers him food and drink from the breakfast table. Mathew declined the seat and offer of breakfast. >"Death of the innocent grieves us as well, even more so because it was our >doing, unwittingly." >Sadly, she relates the story of the ambush, how they were attacked and how they >discovered that the men had been brainwashed... Mathew listens intently, while maintaining a careful watch on the movements of the others. So far, the fair ladies story had the ring of truth to it. Beside there was something soothing about this woman. The way she made eye contact when she spoke, re-assured Mathew that at least this one -did- feel the grievous loss of the villagers. >Garriot becomes very distraught during the telling, and excuses himself from >table. "Hold sir, I think it would be wise if I hear everyone version of the story. Lest there be some detail missing" >At the conclusion of her telling, Khisanth asks Mathew for what information he >knows. "Before I tell you what I know of the murd... unfortunate incident. I would like to see if anyone else has something else to add?" Mathew scanned the group awaiting a response. -- Joe Carl Jr. "It ain't what a man don't know that makes him a jcarl@jabba.ess.harris.com fool, but what he does know that ain't so." -- Josh Billings
