Apparently there was to be more than one of them in his recent experiences. And that wasn't the only similarity between her and Alita. She walked with a playful confidence. Her clothes were loose-fitting but still somewhat revealing. And she seemed to express interest in any and all males nearby. Lancos couldn't help but wonder if the two were linked. >"Hi, folks and my name's Spah and well drinks here are incredibly expensive >and does anyone wanna buy me one?" A simple request. But hadn't SunStorm asking for a helm also been one? And what THAT had led to -- too much to sum up effectively. Still, he felt the need to aid her. But another part of his mind mentally sighed, wondering if he'd ever learn. A smile crossed his face, the first true one since before their hunt for TrueSilver had begun -- he hoped not. He hoped learning from his mistakes never included ignoring others' problems that he could easily correct. He had been drained mentally and physically by the quest, but financially he could still be considered more than well off. However, during his thought period, it appeared the situation had been dealt with. Someone had bought her a drink. An unlikely candidate at that -- clothing more like a priest than anything else, and not looking happy about having to do what he'd just volunteered for. Overhearing that the man had been robbed recently, and thus couldn't really pay, was the final straw. A window of opportunity had been opened, and Lancos decided to use it. He strode up to the bar, to the needy duo. He slipped several gold pieces onto the bar. "That's for the drink, and a meal for each if they wish." Lancos quickly turns towards the pair, and asks, "Shall we sit down?" It is agreed upon, and they are soon seated. "It is nice to meet you, Saph." the red-haired man announces. "My name is Lancos Erredan." His gaze shifts to the other man. "And you're ... Lucas, right? It's been a while, but it's not hard remembering someone whose name so resembles my own." A deep grin crosses his face on these last words. "As I recall, you were looking for a 'mother'. Did you have any success?" Lancos finishes, waiting for a reply from either of his new tablemates. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Michael Sander 344lwkc@cmuvm.csv.cmich.edu
