Message-ID: From: jcp@trident.usacs.rutgers.edu (Jonathan Petersen) Date: 18 Dec 92 00:44:46 GMT Zebron Twilight, appearing as a moon elf due to one of his many magical devices, smiled at the stable hand's 'reaction' to Mathew's commands. What the farm boy did not know was that Zebron had carried out those wishes himself, albeit in the guise of Mathew. The 'moon elf' rode his recently acquired steed, Onyx, up to the aspiring warrior. "Must think you're not playing with a full deck," Zebron offered as an explanation for the stable hand's actions, an explanation that hinted at other secrets as well. Zebron knew that Mathew's comment about a sack of coins and gems as the group's pennance could only refer to one thing. The elf hoped the priest hadn't shown the boy the playing card he had left behind, but it might have happened. The last thing the rogue needed was a paladin-wanna-be lecturing him about his prefered methods of business. That was the whole point of Jaq Spayde, Zebron's alter ego. As one, the party turned to leave the town. Zebron breathed a silent sigh of relief as they left. An hour's ride and the group was far enough from the town that Zebron could drop his illusion. Not stopping his horse, Zebron rode well in Mathew's line of sight, and the 'moon elf's features blurred and changed. Black hair turned white. The soft features of a moon elf were replaced by the harsh, angular features of a drow. Soon Zebron Twilight was himself again, a dark elf. Flashing a wide grin, the dark elf turned towards the newest member of the group, the only one not to know that his 'moon elf' guise was a mere deception, and greeted him, "Well met at last, Mathew. I am Zebron Twilight, the Silver Sword of Eilistraee. And this..." The elf's voice trails off as he extends his arm. The raven flying above lands on it, and nods it's head towards Mathew, eyes gleaming with intelligence. "...this is Dusk." -jak jcp@trident.usacs.rutgers.edu
