The Lyncthrope didn't fight right. It sounds funny to the ears, but he just didn't fight like a savage beast. Gortok had nicked his side, nicked it with SILVER! But the beast stood it's ground. Furthermore, it fought with a sword, a magic sward that rivaled, if not dwarfed (pun?) his own axe. The final straw was the fact that he put himself between Gortok and the girl, as if defending her. Gortok had fought many wars in the last century, and one fighting style stood out more than any other. The tow had been watching each other for about a minute, whaen Gortok took a chance and let his guard down. Every nerve in his body screamed for him to put the axe between himself and the rabbit. The half expected blow, didn't come. "You're a Paladin, aren't you," he said. The rabbits eyes lighted up, a look of relief spread across his face. He opened his mouth as if to say something and stammered a bit. The exaustion took it's toll and Sir Tyrone collapsed in a heap. Gortok paused a momment and rolled his eyes toward the sky and through the rabbit over one shoulder, the unconsous maiden over the other and headed toward the nearest inn. Sir Tyrone opened his eyes. He laid in a bed in a dimly lit room. He remembered what had happened, and checked himself over. He was fine, every wound healed. He looked at around the room and only then noticed the dwarf by the side of his bed. "Yes, Paladin. I'm the dwarf that attacked you," Said Gortok. "The girl is safe in a room across the hall. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding that lead to this, but my axe can heal to some extent the wounds gained in battle. The rest was up to you." "Rest? I don't understand," muttered Tyrone. "You've been asleep for over a week now," said the dwarf, with a smile. "Now, Why don't you tell me whats going on?" Gortok The Undwarf -- mreinker@nyx.cs.du.edu or mattre@linfield.edu
