They had left him not realizing he had been knocked into the woods and not sucked into the flames with Bran. Traveler wakes up with the vague feeling that something is wrong, and not being able to figure out what it is. His head hurts, his body aches, and his mind is full of images. Flames, black robed figures, a familiar face, screams, battles, and blackness fill his mind in a dizzying rush of images and sounds. He is laying in a pile of leaves and branches against a tree which had stopped his forward progress into the woods. Traveler muses to himself as he begins to pick his way out of the tangled mess. He turns to look at the tree and stares in amazement at the tree where he had landed. The tree had been uprooted by a tremendous force, which seems to have been supplied by his flying body. He begins to wander in the direction in which he was facing. After a few minutes of walking he reaches the spot that a camp had been prepared. Again, he has a rush of sounds and sights, peoples faces, fighting, dying, sleeping, and sickness. He can't remember what has happened to him. There is a sound behind and he falls into the familiar state of battle. He turns with liquid movement and stare at a familiar figure. It is the figure of a fantastic Stag Deer. The deer is staring directly at him. This is confusing to him because no creature should be able to see him in this altered state. He moves to the side and this stag follows his movement. Traveler realizes that this is not an ordinary animal, but one with extraordinary powers. Another rush of pictures flood his mind. This jogs his memory of a hunt. This hunt didn't result in a kill though. This hunt was of this same animal. Traveler eases out of his battle mode, and kneels before the grand creature. The Stag speaks to him, " You have encountered a great power which has changed some of your abilities. You will find these abilities as you go about your tasks. You have lost your memory of things in the near past, these things will return. You are to return to the Dragon and wait for your companions. They are at this moment being scattered. They will return, that is those who aren't dead, will seek you out. Go to the Dragon." "Where is this Dragon you speak of", Traveler asks. Stag - " It is north." Then just as quickly as he appeared it disappeared. Traveler was left to think over what was said to him. As he looked around the camp he noticed two horses tied to what looked like burial mounds. He went to them hoping that they might jog his memory. When he saw the name on one of the mounds he was confused, and surprised. It was his name. He dug in the mound and found all of his belongings buried there. He slipped his armor on and put the saddle on the horse, It was a fine stead. He began to ride in the direction indicated by the stag. After a days ride he came to the edge of a town. He rode into the town and continued north. He saw two men standing on a corner, and called out to them, " Gentlemen, do you know where I can find the Dragon?" Gents - " You mean the Dragon's Inn. It down the road a little on the left." Traveler headed down the road and soon came to the inn. He road to the stable and had the boy take his horse to a stall, and rub him down. He then walked across the street and into the Inn. He walked to the bar, ordered a stiff drink, downed it, ordered another, and walked to a table with six empty chairs. He sat down and began the wait for his companions.
