Characters used: Gernodt, Voop-ki, Major Axler, Sergeant Landra Thorpe,
  Terl, Ralston, Langmuir

ADMIN: Sorry for the delay. I seem to have too many characters and too
little time... and Voop-ki is an NPC rather than a PC, so I'm dropping him
here. Major Smal Axler is new, I thought Mac Liam should have a substitute,
and we didn't have a Major yet. Flesh him out if you want...
The others are creations of Michael A. Rigler, Mithrandir, Clinton Richard
  Wolf, and Andrew J. Solberg.

Voop-ki followed him, and they strolled along the Arcade of Fountains to
Glorshanned Keep. The jailer babbled the whole way, he talked mostly of other
guards and when they joined or left the City Guard.

"Quarkin left months ago, he signed off. Then Sergeant Kron was thrown out
because he was accused of having murdered Creft the Fence. I'd say he didn't
do it, and all the patrons in the Dragons Inn think the same way. Recently
Lieutenant Panarchus disappeared without a trace, and ditto Sergeant Korbic
and his men; but I told you that already..."

Finally they arrived at the Keep, and Voop-ki led the way to the office of
Commander Brynne Mac Liam. "He's called Red, I guess it's because of the color
of his face, but I'm not sure. He's a real giant, by the way. No, not a
*real* giant, but, well, he's big. Good evening Sergeant Thorpe. Hello Terl,
hello Ralston, hello Langmuir. This is Gernodt, he wants to join the guard."

The female sergeant, who looked like a person who doesn't stand any nonsense,
greeted them with a suspicious look on her face, and the three guards who were
with her saluted too, but they looked more impressed with Gernodt's bulking
figure.

"Is the boss in his office? No? Then perhaps Major Axler? Yes? Fine.
This is where you go, Gernodt. You won't need me, and I have to go back to the
jail, I fear. Pay me a visit some time, and bring a criminal or two, perhaps
that mage you're looking for."
He turned around and left. The guards looked after him, and Sergeant Thorpe
slowly shook her head.
