After a busy night at the Inn, Scott heads toward his room thinking over
all the strange and different people that he has seen gathered at this place.
Wizards, healers, warriors, things people call monsters, and some beings that
he does not yet know what they are. The people are friendly and many of them
are not so friendly. From the corduial thank you he got from helping carry
the unconsious deadlike man upstairs, to the overfriendly and talkative
bartender/barmaid. One of the interesting people he thought he might talk to
was the red head that took a seat at one end of the bar. Later though he had
yet to finish the mission that he was on.

Getting up before the sun rose, Scott dressed and went down to the stables
to feed and groom his horses. He noticed that the cart with all the wagons was g
gone and that there were many foot prints around where it was that left with it.
He hoped that it hadnt been stolen. (Sigh) Well not his concern. After about an
hour as he was finishing up grooming he notice that the stable doors had been
left open. Odd he was positive that they were shut when he came down. Going over
to them he notice an elderly man who looked like he could have been 200 or more
looking at him.

"Yes, can I help you, sir?" asked Scott.

Looking Scott in the eye the man said, "No. Well not in the way you think
you can. I just came to get a closer look at you."
Scott was slightly taken back by the man because when he had made direct
eye contact with the man, the man`s eyes shone with a brillant light and Scott
felt the man attempt to reach into his mind like so many other wizards had
before.
"I heard that one like what I was looking for had wondered into the city.
Ahh. And by the expression on your face I can tell that you have dealt with
magic and men who use it. This I will tell you."
The old man paused to see if Scott would say anything. Seeing that Scott
held his silence the man continued. "I will watch and listen for the things
that you have done and will do. If it is what I expect it to be I will return
and speak to you again. I think I might have a job offer for you, Scott
Gillig." and then laughing softly the elderly man turned to leave. As the wind
blew some snow across the yard the man seemed to disappear, almost fading into
the white wintery world.

Scott closed the door to the stable and thought to him self. Interesting
that for all the strange and different people in the Inn last night that this
'wizard' would see and notice him. As common and unintrussive as Scott was
last night he might as well not been there at the Inn. (Sigh) Well wizards
are a different lot.
Scott finished saddling the warhorse and then checked on the pack horses.
Confident that they were taken care of and safe he open the door and lead the
horse out. Closing the stable doors, he mounted up and looked once again at
the sign above the door. 'Dragons Inn` well the name kind of did fit. That
was certainly a very strange group of 'people' that gathered there. And with
all the talk of adventure, treasure and wrongdoing he was sure that someone
or some group would be looking for an extra fighting man.
Turning toward the east Scott rode off thinking that when he returned
later that day he would post a note as it seemed that most of the people there
could read, stating that he was a Mercenary for hire. Well that would wait he
had a promise to keep first.
