Message-ID: <1993Feb16.221400.5289@ccd.harris.com> Date: Tue, 16 Feb 1993 22:14:00 GMT Khisanth Athnevara, betrothed of Alaric Shadowleaf and last daughter of long-dead Imrryr, was dying. Alaric tried to steel himself against the inevitable. The silver arrow, symbol of his god Solonor, was still entwined in his fingers as he held his beloved. All his own granted healing was spent, and he could do nothing. Zebron came up to him and said something, but the words did not register. A silver tear dropped onto Khisanth's face, and Alaric smoothed back a few strands of her coppery hair. Against all hope, he began to pray once more. Behind him, he heard the faint echoings of a female voice, whose power and prayer seemed to link with his. Kyleen...he had not known that she also was a cleric, and of Solonor. Beside him, Zebron drew his sword, and swore to avenge Khisanth's now imminent death. As he did, the sword began to glow, and a silver glow began to surround Khisanth's body. Alaric could feel the power surrounding her, and as the glow faded, Khisanth's breathing became more regular, her pulse stronger. Alaric looked up, and saw a tall archer of unearthly grace in the woods. Khisanth opened her eyes, and Alaric saw the reflection of Zebron....and of a beautiful drow female behind him... He, too, turned to look, and saw nothing. He looked at Kyleen, who still looked in the direction of where he had seen Solonor. Later, Zebron and Kyleen would each attribute the miracle to their deity. Only Alaric knew that it had taken both to save his betrothed. -- Belinda Asbell + System Administrator, Harris Controls Division mba@ccd.harris.com + Any opinions presented are mine alone.
