Subject: [T&S Party]  Blaze's Blessing

The party was going full swing by the time Lance and Blaze arrived.  They 
had got there just in time to hear Serene announce the house name as 
ShadeHaven.  Lance decided to check out the refreshments (he had 
overheard scuttlebutt at the Inn about the 'pizza' they were offering and 
wanted a taste for himself).  Blaze, however, searched out Serene and 
Luthor.  They were chatting with some of the other guests in the corner.  
When Serene spotted Blaze, see greeted her joyously and introduced her to 
Luthor.

Serene then said, "You know, last week, you wanted to bless Mista, 
right?"  Luthor had heard Serene talking about that morning she and Blaze 
met in the Inn's doorway and was also wondering.

Blaze replied, "Well, yes.  However, I would also like to give you and 
this house a special blessing as well.  Might I?"

Serene said, "Of course, Blaze."  Luthor nodded in agreement.

Blaze then stood straight, closed her eyes, outstrecthed her arms, and 
gave the following blessing:

        Bless ShadeHaven and all of its occupants:
        Serena, Luthor, Mista, and all others who shall take shelter 
                here.
        Let it be safe from all harm and evil,
        Let it stand firm in all weather and circumstance,
        Let it be a home worthy of such a kind family,
        And may its occupants find peace and happiness for the rest of
                their days.

Blaze's eyes closed tighter as she started chanting under her breath.  
Suddenly, an strange power shot through the walls, setting of a dull but 
visible aura for all the guests to see.  Serena, Luthor, Mista and all of 
ShadeHaven's servants also glow lightly, though they felt no differently. 
The aura continued for over a minute, then Blaze stopped chanting and 
opened her eyes.

Luthor was a little shocked, but managed to say, "What was that glow?"

Blaze said, "I chanted to make the blessing so.  The power of my magic 
went out of my being and into the house.  I hope I did not frighten any 
of you."

Luthor said, "Oh, no.  Not at all.  I mean...Serene TOLD me you were a 
sorceress but I never expected..."

"That is quite all right, Luthor.  I assure you that the house has not be 
damaged or harmed in any way."

"Thank you very much, Blaze," said Serene.  "I sure hope your blessing 
will do its trick."

With a slight laugh, Blaze replied, "It usually does."

Just then, Lance came over with a plate of goodies.  "Hey, hello there.  
You must be Serene.  Blaze told me about you and your family.  I guess 
you gave the blessing, Blaze?"

"You mean you could not tell?", said Blaze.

"Very funny, beloved.  You should try some of this 'pizza'.  It is pretty 
tasty."
