I even cancelled my previous article involving it. Oh, well, I can recover easily enough... Say, while I"m here... I mentioned a thread I'd "run" in the not-too- distant future , but forgot to say that other PC interaction is wanted/ welcomed. The plot's getting set quickly, but there's always room for at least a crossover. Please e-mail me if you want to be involved in any way. Now, onto the 'story'...] Lancos arrives at the house fairly early, just as guests were beginning to filter in. Most of the memory of his earlier tirade had subsided, but there was a section of his mind that couldn't forget it. Maybe it had been a spark of paladinic motives. Maybe it had been something the medallion had installed in him. Maybe it was pure jealousy. Whatever it was, it was assuredly an unusual feeling -- Lancos had never actively sought for fame or power -- but he would feel better once it was satiated. But first, he would enjoy himself. Luthor and Serene -- with Mista, of course -- were at the door, greeting whomever decided to come in the same, openly welcome manner, regardless of how well they knew them. And now it was Lancos' turn. "Greetings." Lancos offered in Elvish, "May your house and your love last the ages." Luthor cocked an ear in slight surprise at the dialect. "Thank you -- for you presence and for your words. Lancos shrugged the complement off. "It's not the Old Elvish Kadrys and 'Raelf know, but well, it fits in well with my other gift in being 'borrowed' from someone else." With that, he carefully removes his backpack, and takes out a large, covered rectangular dish. The warrior recalls that the concoction was so big, he had to take out most of the things that had been in his backpack. But he knew that it was a small price to pay, especially since he knew he could trust Littlefair with the possessions, and all were easily replacable. He removes the top to reveal a crisp casserole. One of the Rabble walks up and says "Hey, the mage making stuff is _one_ thing, but _you_?" "Oh, it's edible." Lancos says with a smile, "It's not even my recipe.' he added, hoping he had answered any remaining questions. He turns to Luthor and says, "Let me know if you like it; if so I may make a more... 'special' batch for you and Serene." "I'm sure we'll enjoy it." the Shadow Mage responds. "Well, feel free to be honest and not just polite." Lancos says, even though he knew that if the situation were reversed, he would've reacted in the same manner. Lancos moves out and begins to mingle, talking with old friends and introducing himself to new people. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Michael Sander 344lwkc@cmuvm.csv.cmich.edu
