E'Karam caught Kal's attention with a look that was not normal for the
Illithid.  His childish manner was replaced with a clam intelligence that
commanded attention:
     "Kal, I don't mean to offend, but perhaps you should stop accepting
gifts from these people.  The horn and the necklace both seem to have
abilities that go beyond what you have been told.  Who can tell the
intentions of such creatures as these.  The hag herself may be trying
to get the horn for her own plans, using us and the necklace to that
end.  The necklace might have negative effects as well that could make
it more dangerous than the explosive crates that you carry in the wagon.
     "I am not suggesting that we refuse help from anyone outside the
group, just that we proceed with caution.  Everyone that we meet from
this point on, could be out to kill us or use us for their own gain.
We are going to be encountering some very powerful and ambitious people
in the near future.  To them, we are either an obsticle or a tool..."

E'Karam's facial features relaxed and to all around him, he seemed back
to normal:
     "Can we turn this magical goop inso some bombs or what?"
