[ADMIN:	I'm back after an absence. I left off with Jac, Windrunner,
and M'arrella just inside the East Gate, heading along Dragon
	Lane. This picks up there.

Jac looked about him as they made their way westward. Their progress was
impeded by the various pedestrians and carts, but that was only to be
expected in such a city. He was amused to see that his and Windrunner's
sizes did not attract much attention. Obviously, large visitors were
relatively common here. He didn't concentrate too long any one thing,
choosing instead to keep all his senses open for general impressions.

By the time they came within easy sight of the Plaza of Glittering Steel,
it was a bit before noon. Jac looked along the lane to this left, and
quickly found the stylized dragon hung in front of the Inn.

<<Hugh was right.>> he thought. <<You really can't miss it.>> His ears
and nose told him that a stable was nearby. He reached out with his mind
to locate it. He found it just around the corner from the inn. The hint
of a smile touched the right corner of his mouth. He guided Windrunner
over near the front of the inn, and hopped off the saddle. His senses
told him of magic in and on the establishment. Most of it seemed to be
fairly harmless, even benign. However, there was a glamour on the front
door which felt more threatening.

Jac walked over to the door. He ran his hand around the door frame
without ever quite touching it. He did the same with the door itself and
the latch. He frowned momentarily, then walked back over by Windrunner.
He sat cross-legged on the ground, and produced a pouch from underneath
his cloak. He opened the pouch and took out five colored gemstones, which
he then proceeded to juggle. Once he had them going, he closed his eyes
in a divinatory trance, using the stones to help him focus his analysis of
the strange spell on the door.

<A mental invasion there ... checks the emotional state ... looks for
anger, violence and such ... if found, activates a planar shifting effect
... linked to a similar place dimensionally not too far away. Sloppily
installed, shouldn't last ... Oh, I see, it's hooked into the warding
that's there. The anti-violence effect that used to be active here(?)
made this easier to attach. Keeps it going, too. Hmm, this could be used
to make it easier to repair that broken protective spell.>

He smiled slightly, and opened his eyes again. He amused himself by
juggling for another minute or two, then put the stones back in his
pouch. Standing up, he hid the pouch away again. "You know the drill."
he said to Windrunner. "Be back soon." With that, he walked back over to
the door, and entered through it.
