And I don't really care. Stick it wherever you like. Ja'nis finally gets her story streight in her mind, and stands up to tell it. "I was born, come to think of it I still am, the daughter of a cobbler in a little villiage on this side of the Kirender river, right across from the southern marshes. It still is called Three Weeds, and has all the charm that city-bred folk ever could yearn for, in other words, it was DULL. "It was the early years of the Lizardman wars, and the Powers that Be thought that Three Weeds might be under threat from the Lizardmen, so they sent a company of Mercs over there to guard the place. After settling in and getting used to the ease of life which Three Weeds had, they immediately began to get bored, and the civillian and military authorities were constantly locking horns over little antics they played. It was during this time that I learned how to wield a sword and fight. "Things went on like this for three years, and when the Mayor finally decided he'd had enough of the Mercenaries coming in and raping his children every weekend, he mobilized the militia and went out to meet the Mercenaries on the field of battle. Wouldn't you know it, but right then the Lizardmen decided that maybe Three Weeds was worth taking after all, and marched into the same field. "Since each of the three armies, well, battalions, they weren't real armies, was outnumbered two to one, it wasn't surprising that they all lost. The lizardmen retreated to the marshes, the Mercenaries were denied access to the villiage, and the townsfolk failed to drive anybody off. "I was so embarassed that I left, went to specifica, and haven't been back since."
