She had had 2 glasses of wine and that was quite enough. She looked over the group. A fighter, a mage (be it the person or the book), a jack-of-all-trades, and another warrior. Combined with her one deity-bestowed power they should be able to rescue Ixnaphior. "It is time for me to explain things a bit more fully, to all of you. Ixy was born in Wyvernia, a small settlement in the land of Isalaron. Spondeux is the ruler of this land. When he first came of age, he enlisted in the military, not realizing the damage it was doing. When he discovered the true mission of the military, he slipped away and prepared the next unfortunate town to defend itself. The attack was repulsed, but he had to flee into hiding. It was during this time that he met up with the archmage Zweldron and went with him on a series of quests, always getting in Spondeux's way. Having had enough of this, he left and went to Qurqiren, where I come from. Here he met Zebron Twilight and adventured with him, running afoul of the Black Eel, a powerful assassin. He next took a vacation to Generica, which is probably where he met Moria Runecaster and you, Eski," she singled him out for a moment, "but the time traps were driving him crazy, so he returned. He now has decided to get rid of Spondeux and the Eel, who works for Spondeux, once and for all. He must have failed and gotten into a lot of trouble, or I would never have known to come looking for him." She paused to let the history lesson soak in. "Now, we need to find and recue him. I will tell you about what we will probably be up against. "first, Spondeux. He is a very powerful wizard with demonic-looking wings on his back. How he got them is a long tale, and I do not have the time now to explain. He will have wards and traps of the most devious kind set to prevent Ixy's escape, or rescue. He will probably have a force of his elite guards with him. Do not underestimate their power, for he has enhanced their ability with magic. "Second, the Black Eel. No one knows the Eel's real name. He was once a decent fighter who took to the ways of thieving and assassination. Few of his intended victems have ever survived. The only one I know of who has is Zebron Twilight. It is because of him that we will always have to watch each-others' backs, both figuratively AND literally. "That's about all the briefing I can give you. As soon as you are all ready, we can head out."
