[ADMIN: Bear with me through another attempt at posting something I'm only half-sure will reach the group. Hopefully this, and the fact that I'm working mainly from memory, won't affect the post...] Brent watched as Zebron moved quickly to help the newcomer. The guard cursed himself slightly for not reacting faster, but the Drow had acted immediately, almost if he had anticipated someone coming in. 'Then again' the half-elf reminded himself, 'Zebron _is_ a mage. As far as I know, he _did_ know before it happened.' He put that thought aside though, as he pulled up behind Zebron, and off to the right a bit, interested in what was going on. It didn't take long for Brent to notice the tattoo on the man's head, though it wasn't a symbol he recognized. Of course, he hadn't really _expected_ too... >The drow's eyes crossed in disbelief as the wounds did not mend rapidly. > >A weak smile crossed the newcomer's lips. "Sometimes, the magic is leached >off anything I touch before it can take effect." Brent couldn't help but be taken aback a bit by that statement. That property certainly owuld be an interesting one around Generica, which most considered magic-rich. Of course, he was far from over-reliant on magic himself... Fortunately though, the second healing potion worked, and Brent could easily see that the man was feeling a little better because of it. As a bowl of soup was brought by the always-punctual staff of the Dragon's Inn, introductions were exchanged between the newcomer and the Drow. Brent waited until he felt Zebron was finished, and then stepped forward. "Greetings, Karadin." he said in a friendly voice. "My name is Brent, and I'm one of the Town Guards. Let me welcome you to the fair city of Generica, and to probably the best tavern in it, the Dragon's Inn. Hopefully, this is where you meant to end up." He gave a smile that he hoped would be comforting -- he wasn't quite used to... politeness or etiquette after spending most of his life as a thief, though he felt he was improving, and it was helping his relations with people. "And let me go along with the invitation Zebron gave. You are welcome at our table, to ask questions about the place, exchange a tale or two, or simply recover from what obviously was a long and hard trip..." He stepped to Karadin's left side, ready to assist the man to the table if need be. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mike Sander 344lwkc@cmuvm.csv.cmich.edu
