[ADMIN] Beginning and end by Sumner Hayes, Brent's words by Michael
Sander. On language - Ae and agol is gnomish for, "gem mines and goblin
bodies!" Karadin picked up the exclamation during his time in the
gnomish capitol.

Karadin glanced around the inn in confusion. "Thank you both for the
invitation. I am in need of rest, and healing - perhaps the temple of
Gellin could be contacted? Pardon me for not introducing myself
earlier. I am Karadin Redbane, Arch-Thaumaturge of the Caldoonic Order.
Well met, friends." He extended his hand and the trio exchanged
handshakes.
"Excuse me, sir . . . Brent? Would you mind telling me in what
part of the country Generica is? I have never heard of it before - odd,
as I thought I knew the entire geography of the land. You see, I'm
really not sure where I am. I'm afraid some sort of rift has led me
here. It isn't really where I meant to end up - not that it doesn't
seem a nice place, but I was hoping to remain to finish out the battle.
We'll need all of the force we can muster to defeat the army - though
I'm sure you, as a member of the guard, are well aware of this.
Thankfully, though, the staff has been destroyed."

"Well," Brent started, "There isn't a Temple of 'Gellin' around, but the
one of Ilmater should suit you fine, and I wouldn't be surprised if
Rowan Littlefair -- that's the bartender's name, by the way -- already
sent someone to tell him about it. Second, it's a bit surprising you
haven't heard of Generica, but I'll give you a general location. It
rests on the Eastern shore of the Great Blue... lies West of the Mysty
Mountains... South of the Northern Kingdoms... North of the Marshes,
Rameshan and the Running Lands... in the realm of Nexus..." He paused
after each place name for any sign of recognition, but when Karadin only
stared rather blankly or gave a confused look, the guard let out a sigh.

"Well, we can go to the Cartographers' Guild if you want, but it seems
obvious that you're not from this plane. Don't worry, though -- that
happens more often than you'd think, and there should be ways for you to
return. Tell me though, what battle, army, and staff are you talking
about? While I'm pretty much stuck here, this city -- this inn
particularly -- is rich with adventurers that might be willing to
help..."

Karadin cast his eyes to the floor for a minute before responding. A
hint of interest tempered the disappointment in his eyes. "Ae and agol
- a new plane? That can't be. No one since . . . well, Elanis Skyfyre
possibly . . . it's been centuries since other planes have been
contacted . . . still, I really can't afford to be traipsing around the
multiverse right now. You see, there's a bit of a battle going on on
Tarin right now - thankfully we seem to be defeating the evil ones, but
things are still tough. That's how I ended up here. By destroying the
Rod of Sortik - he's the patron of the Walking dead on Tarin - I must
have opened some sort of multi-planar rift that sent me here. I'll
explain it in detail at some point when we have the time." He held up a
hand and called out to Littlefair, "Could I have a cup of wine, good
sir? Emerald or ruby - emerald is preferable."
"Well, I was hoping to defeat the blasted necromancers, but I fear that
such will be left to others. You see, Tarin has had very little other
planar contact. Skyfyre closed all known means of entrance and egress
following a particularly gruesome invasion by the Winged Ones - Daemons
from the Abyss. Perhaps the mages of your world could overcome those
wards, though that is doubtful. Is there some sort of Mage's Guild that
I could contact?"
"Yes, there is a Mage Guild here in Generica. It's rather easy to
locate - just head down to the Arcade of Fountains."
"I'll have to do so. For now, though, I must get some sleep. Events
have been rather wearying. Thank you kindly for the aid and
information, and, Zebron? Perhaps we can chat alone soon - I am
interested to find out what tricks the mages of this land have
discovered, and am more than willing to show you some of mine own in
return.  Tarin's blessings, I go."
