When one is planning to go into the low city and the waterfront, she thought, one had best be prepared. The thought of the dangerous territory she was about to enter reminded her of the jungles of her homeland. As a woman of the Kansai warrior class she had hunted on the plains and jungles of the Dark Continent many times. Generica was really no different. The various regions and inhabitants of the city had a great deal in common with the denziens of the feilds and forrests, plains and jungles. She was now outside the temple, she looked up to the peak of Merchants Hill. The light glittered of the golden gates, towers, and roof tops of the mansions. Steeling herself she started down the hill and into the city. Perhaps what I need is a walk outside the city, not that Kron Park or the city gardens aren't lovely, but what I need is to get in touch with the wild. "Aurro!" Turning Aurro saw Rilla looking down at her from the gate of the temple. "What is it Rilla?" "Nicolla wants to know if you could stop at the Happy Mage and Dragons Inn and get some information for him." the young woman had trotted down the hill and now handed Aurro a piece of paper with some questions on it. "Certainly, tell me how often do you get out of the temple?" "Not very often, why?" "Because I would be very pleased if you could accompany me, I am going into some of the rougher parts of town and wouldn't mind some company." "Oh can I?!" "Yes come along." I had no idea, thought Rilla, how badly people could treat one another. The things those men said to Aurro and me! Well at least we're through with that. The Happy Mage was crowded with the lunch crowd and with students between classes. Ashford however made the time to talk with Aurro, and ehr young companion. "So this young man in the robes who worried you, have you seen him since?" Ashford shook his head. "No, but from what I hear he has been doing a lot more true magick around the campus. Slim!" One of the Inns bouncers came over to the table. "Yeah boss?" "Could you go over and see to it that those three barbarian wannabes don't destry the table?" "Sure thing boss!" Slim ambled off into the crowd. "Where was I?" "The kid," Rilla piped in " was do flashy stuff on campus." "That's all I really know, except that there was some sort of magical disturbance nearby shortly after Mikar left." "I see, is there anything else?" Aurro ducked as a peice of a chair came flying towards the table, the barbarian wannabe's (whatever thos are) having gotten out of hand. "No, sorry. I know it's a little chaotic, but if you ladies are willing how about a free lunch?!" All movement and sound within the building stopped as the entire room turned to stare. For the first time in the history of the Happy Mage, Ashford von Hardryvz had offered someone something for free! Aurro and Rilla looked around, a little unnerved at being in the center of so much attention. Aurro was the first to regain her composure. "We would be honored." Ashford went off to get them a menu and life slowly returened to the crowd as they came to their senses.
