Message-ID: Date: Fri, 3 Dec 1993 19:30:56 GMT It didn`t take long for Mingon to realize that he need money and he needed it in a BIG way. "What am I going to do?" he said in a exasperated tone as he slowly nursed the mug of warm beer that he had bought with his last few coppers. "A brother to save, a ransom to pay, and a crazy sorceror that says he wants me to pay him the money that my brother owns him! Ugh!" Mingon was in a fix it seems. Slowly trying to fit it all together, he carefully went over the events of the last few weeks. "First my brother dissappers suddenly and I hear no word from him for 2 weeks, which is strange since he has is trading store to keep up. Second I get this note demanding 500 gold for a ransom to be paid by the third full moon; 500 gold? how in the blaze will I ever get that much? Third this wizard person is demanding that I give him some 50 gold as well. For some "service" he says he did for my brother. What was Gerret doing? aarrgghhhh." It seemed, to Mingon, that Garret was up to something not entirely along the straight and narrow. Mingon knew his brother was somewhat bold; he WAS someone you could call and "adventurer" and he has seen most of continent. Maybe he got into trouble during is travels or maybe he sold some fake goods or something. What it was Mingon had no idea, but he did know he had to do something to help his brother out. Garret was the one who had pulled him off the streets and showed him what one could get out of life with out having to take it. In fact, Garret had most likely saved Mingon from a terrible end. Mingon was getting to the point where he was good enough to begin stealing from the houses of the rich and powerful, and not just from the fat lazy merchants on the streets. "Well I guess I should just go over to his store and see what I can find. Maybe some clues as to what he had been doing or where he might have been taken or hopefully who took him." Mingon said to himself over the noise of the common room. What a strange place this is, he said to himself as an after thought. Looks like some powerful people here, certainly a few that I wouldn't want to upset! It was chance that had brought him here, the Dragons Inn, to spend the last of his hard stolen money. He had been walking the streets for hours trying to figure it all out, and just by happenstance he had just walked right in and sat down. Mingon had lived in the city all of his short life and he had never heard of this Inn even though he must have walked that same street hundreds of times. "Dragons huh? Well I wonder if they have one tied up in the basement! huh. Well I guess I should be going." With that he tipped his mug way back to get the last few drops of beer and headed towards the door. As he approached, light suddendly streamed in through the door way as a rugged looking group of people came throught the entrance jostling to get to a table first. The quick brilliance and sudden distraction brought something Mingon hadnt seen before to his attention. There was a collection of posters or with writing and pictures on them posted onto the wall next to the door. One in particular caught his eye. "WANTED: BOUNTY HUNTERS TO CATCH FUGITIVES! Earn Gold By Catching Thieves and Smugglers All Those Interested Come to the Government Building To Receive Further Information On This Great Opportunity To Get Good Money!!" "This is great and exactly what I needed!" he said fairly loud to no one in particular. He quickly ripped the poster from the wall and almost ran out the door of the Dragons Inn. Such was his excitement of this new hope. However, he failed to notice the many stares and looks he recieved from the customers inside. One in particular would have turned his blood to ice.
