Thanks to Penny for the invite. = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Night had fallen rather quickly as Lance and Blaze made their way to ar'Elya's Lighthouse. Hand-in-hand, they walked, admiring the stars and moons that had appeared in the sky while they were at the Inn, eating a light dinner. Blaze's grip was a little tighter than Lance's as they approached their destination. As they entered, Blaze's golden magical amulet started glowing brightly. Out of all the places she has travelled in the past two years or so since leaving Bevillsca, this place, this lighthouse, felt most like home to her. The magic that surrounded it was overwhelming, much like the workshop of Blaze's father, the Royal Wizard of Bevillsca. When she last visited, when the Guild returned from finding Andrea and Sheryl, she felt like she could never leave again. The magic.... Lance, on the other hand, did not feel as much at home as his mate did. In fact, over the years, he had grown more found of open spaces than cities, more content to sleep under the stars (or even the storm clouds) than under a roof. Magic was not his style; strength and smart fighting was. But, he WAS happy that Blaze was happy; the long conversations she had with the 'kan last time made him smile, even though he himself could not understand even half of what they were talking about. Lance DID see some familiar faces in the crowd, though, including 'Raelf. "Or is that 'Raf?" he then thought. He had confused the two before, and he was not about to make any guesses now. Just then ar'Elya saw the couple and came over to them. "Welcome, Sir Lance. Welcome, Blaze. Glad you could make it." Lance smiled and, politely, kissed ar'Elya's hand, saying, "Glad to have made it; there was a bit of a problem in getting here. The bodies of four unconscious men were found in our path, and the police were questioning us about it." A small unicorn came up to Blaze, whinning in delight. Blaze knelt down and, petting the unicorn's mane, said, "Why hello, Sheryl. How are you?" Sheryl's happy whinning gave Blaze the impression that she was very well. "Where is Andrea?" asked Lance. "Or did Sheryl come alone?" ar'Elya stated, "Andrea came just a little while ago, but she was so tired that I put her up in one of my guest rooms." "Hey, Sir Lance, Blaze, what's happening?" said 'Raelf as he approached the couple. Right behind him was...a duplicate? A little confused, Lance shoke his hand and said, "Hello, 'Raelf. And hello to you,..er...'Raf." 'Raelf laughed and said, "Nice try, friend, but this is Lex." Lex extended his hand. "Pleased to meet you. 'Raelf and ar'Elya told me a bit about you two." Lance shook hands, as did Blaze. 'Raelf then said, "Well, I see you've brought your mandolin with you." Lance took it out of its leather case and said, "Well, I thought that, perhaps, I could teach you a song or two, to return the favor for that night of camping before we returned. I was also thinking of playing that interesting drinking game that we played at Serene's housewarming party." 'Raelf's smile broadened. "This," he said, putting his arm around the knight, "is my kind of fellow!" He led Lance away, with Lex following behind, leaving Blaze and ar'Elya. Blaze said, "Perhaps we could continue that conversation we were having last time. I enjoyed it so much." ar'Elya replied, "Well, I'm sure we can find the time. Come on and I'll introduce the other guests. I'm sure Sir Lance will meet them sooner or later during the night." = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = ADMIN: To all those involved in the [LH] string; Sir Lance and Blaze are at your disposal (so to speak). The only requirement is that the couple does not use contractions, due to their backgrounds.
