Message-ID: <1993Oct22.190509.1@vax1.umkc.edu> From: dvaughn@vax1.umkc.edu Date: 22 Oct 93 19:05:09 CST Organization: University of Missouri - Kansas City NNTP-Posting-Host: vax1.umkc.edu Lines: 21 "Is there anyone who knows the land around here very well?" Ryn looks around the group. "I was wondering if it would be possible to slip past them in some way, still keeping to our course. If not, perhaps we may come around behind them and so take them by surprise." She looks hesitantly at Aylyra, Eski, and Winter/Lex. "In my land, a mage could cast some sort of illusion; making it seem as if the party traveled along the path unaware when in fact we where coming through the woods behind them. A simpler plan might be to get send a scout ahead, myself perhaps, to flush the attackers and then one of our mages could cast a sleep spell." Ryn's golden gaze is upon Aylyra. "Back home, sleep spells are deemed `simpler' magic, and not thought worth noting be great mages such as the one we face. Not to insinuate different for the party, but it is may understanding that such spells are easier upon the caster; for they encourage the body to do something it does naturally. There is another reason I could be the decoy ....." Ryn hesitates, looking as if she's trying to ignore someone's voice. She raises her voice slightly. " The reason being that I was trained by one who was highly skilled in the art of assassination. I might stand a somewhat better chance of survival if Black Eel is indeed among the group awaiting in ambush." Ryn shrugs. "All is moot, of course, if there are other plans."
