I guess it was evening when I saw him. The sun was just about to go down and he looking around. He seemed to be either losted or looking for an address. I thought to myself, "what a perfect vimtim!" He was dressed in dirty, old rags. He carried a sword on his back and a dagger on his side. But the thing that caught my eye was his pouch that was hanging on his belt. He could make believe he was poor but he couldn't fool me!
"How are you, sir. May I be of some assistance?"
"Yes, that would be delightful. I'm looking for a place called... Dragon's Inn. Do you know where it is?" he asked. Dragons Inn is a well-known place and if he didn't know where it was... *grin* "Yes, I can show you there." I replied. I told him to wait there as I walked around the corner to tell my friends to meet me at Dragons Inn. I came back and he was still there looking at the city. "Let us go," I said. So we started walking. "Thankyou, my good man. I shall reward you most generously."
We traveled to Dragons Inn the long way, of course. And when we got there, it was about midnight. He told people call him Vagabond and that he was told to go to Dragons Inn to search for something. But the most fastinating thing was his left hand. He didn't notice that I saw it but I was sure that he had a tattoo of a dragon. And it seemed to be burned in. We talked for a while about nothing. I almost felt bad about what I was about to do to him... almost!
"Here we are, sir, the famous Dragons Inn. Now about my pay... " My friends knew what they had to do as they came out of the shadows. At that moment, my thought were of gold, women and wine. But that night did not turn out the way I thought it would... if only I lived long enough to tell the tale!
