"Well met, Tem'pral. Your tale interests me greatly, and now not only
because of these gems. Magical portals are very hard to come by, and
a cavern full of them is too much for one of my calling to pass up. I
will gladly escort you to the cavern and provide what assistance I may
 to you and your miners."

"I possess many varied talents, some of which may help you get the air
that you need to explore the cavern of gems. Of course, I suspect that
my most useful talent will be fighting off these seven-headed monsters
from other planes. Although I do not have an extensive knowledge of
combat spells, I do carry the ancient Blade of S'varin, which in the
Common tongue translates to 'Blade of the Holy Defenders of the Elven
Wood,' or something to that effect."

The Electric Sintar displays his be-jeweled broadsword; it consists of a
jet black blade decorated with a silver twisted lightning bolt, the Sintar's
personal symbol. The hilt is also done in black and silver, with a modest
diamond centered in the pommel.

"Tem'pral, I am at your service. I can leave immediately or at your
convenience; I need only to finish my ale and gather some binge-root at
the Generica Market. Will our itinerary permit me to bring my
 warhorse Thunderbolt to the caverns?"

The Electric Sintar finishes his pipe and patiently awaits a reply. In the
back of his mind, he worries that perhaps these man-eating beasts that the
bearded traveler spoke of may be more than insignificant nuisances. Could
they be the Threat that had been premonitioned in the stars during the last
month? He would take no chances; if they did turn out to be the apocalyptic
threat to mankind that was feared, then he and his father's staff would
deal them a serious blow before they got him.
