The searing light burst from Simrax's mace, erupting in a brilliant
white light. It drove the creature back, at the same time driving
Simrax in the opposite direction. Then the creature seemed to be
preoccupied by something else, and Simrax slipped around the side of
the fight. The male who had been here at the beginning had been
wounded and could perhaps use Simrax's assistance. The golden symbol
around his neck seemed to allow him contact with his goddess Qira
even here. He bowed his head and began reciting the prayer before he
even reached the man. But when he got there Simrax found that the man
had already healed himself, and the energies dissipated harmlessly
into the surroundings. Looking around, Simrax saw that the dread were
clearly well taken care of. He leaned back against the wall of a
nearby building to await the others. Perhaps someone would offer a
penniless cleric some food and drink, and perhaps a room for the
night, he would be good for the credit once he found the local temple
dedicated to Qira, if there was one...
