The "Horse" following the Cart has trotted closer and is leaning
in, appearing to nibble on one of the shrubberies. The more
perceptive would notice that he is, in fact, talking to them.
The more perceptive are giving the cart a wide berth, since they
are not fooled at all by the dragon posing as a horse and a cart
with yellow fringe carrying shrubberies which are really a mob of
potentially marauding mercenaries. Adventurers, they mutter, and
find reason to be elsewhere. Or they wave jaunty greetings and
go about their business.

The dragon converses with the Bodega Bush and the Silver Thyme
(I refuse to look up the latin names) about the proper approach.
He suggests some stereotypically draconian solution to the question
of taking the kingdom, something involving Roast Peasant.

Miro, sitting on the front, snickers quietly.

"My dear old wyrm," he says, his voice somehow carrying only to
the dragon (and twinging the senses of any air-elementalist magicians
who might be sitting between them), "Why are you about tormentin'
o' these poor naifs? Tryin' tae put the fear o' dragons in 'em?"

The dragon snorts but does not answer yet.

"Ah, I see it," Miro continues. "You don't want them knowin' that
the dragons figured out long past, about the benefits o' keepin'
a lower profile. More profit in the long run, and less o' the
petty annoyin' kaniggity pestilence."

Still the dragon does not answer ... yet.

"So," Miro concludes, "Ye're after havin' them buy you the shifter
amulet you be wantin'. Well, if they canna find one, then have
Rathan get you one when he comes up tae the Lighthouse."

He smiles and looks down the street. Only a few more blocks before
they turn off.
