Kyar's hand drifted away from the hilt of his wide-bladed
scimitar, allowing his full black cloak to drop back in front of the
weapon. He stepped forward and gently helped the stranger who had
moments ago been somehow disguised as his companion lift Alarond and
move off towards the temple district of the city.
As the trio moved through the warrens of the port district,
Kyar opened his awareness, probing with his mind at the stranger. He
met only a solid wall of resistance, which got him a quick glance from
the would be Aleric. Kyar realized now how the stranger's disguise
had been so succesful.
Kyar could not break the defense and carry Alarond at the same
time, so he merely smiled at the stranger and walked on. He reached
out mentally and gathered in energy, letting the life energy of the
surrounding terrain fill his body and mind. When the confrontation
came he would be prepared.
