Rathan was rather upset at BD for his senseless slaying of the man and the
horse. How could anyone be so cruel as to eat another without cause. One
might be surprised that Rathan could get angry over the murder of a mere
mortal, particularly him being raised in Ravenloft. But apparently his father
had more influence on Rathan, than even Rathan would believe.

"BD, I would STRONGLY advise you to seek out other sustenance when in my
presence. Even if Jones likes your attitude, I do not. These humans may only
be Shadow folk, but then again so aren't you." Rathan would have continued,
but he felt a tingling in the back of his mind, signifying hostile life
approaching nearby.

Before Rathan could set up a defence from the probable attack, the camp was
swarmed with strange goblins. While BD's transformation into a dragon did not
phase the goblins, Rathan's transformation into a demon did greatly surprise
his companions. Rathan now stood at over 7' instead of 6'6", with a greenish
chitin exoskeleton. The barbarian instead of resembling a surfer, now
resembled a thri-kreen warrior with bulging muscles and no abdomen. With
gossamer wings, Rathan took to the air.

In two claws, the insectoid wielded a spear. In another, sparks flew between
the digits. In the last, flames roared from the palm. Rathan descended upon
two of the stone-skinned goblins. One was momentarily stunned while the other
was trickling blood from a shallow wound in his chest. Anther two were grabbed
by Rath, one in his flame claw, and the other in his lightning claw. These
other two were a bit more injured than the first two, but it seemed that it was
going to be a very long battle. "Ah, these Gobos don't belong to this Shadow
do they?" "I don't think so Boss. BTW, do I have to protect the loser under
the cart?" "Nah, if he gets himself offed while we drive off the Gobos then
that's his bad luck. We weren't hired to play nurse maid. If things turn
really ugly, I guess I will teleport him with the others though."

"Jones, you didn't tell me about fighting para-Shadow Goblins. This is going
to cost you extra."

Eventually Rathan would bring down one goblin, but the others would the swarm
over him. Fortunately Rathan could teleport besides use psychokinesis. Rathan
began to feel tired, but could probably continue on for at least a couple more
hours; it did not seem that the others would last that long. "Jones, I hope
you have a plan."

[ADMIN: I haven't mentioned anything before about certain acts, because I
didn't know about them, my newsfeed was very slow until recently. Anyone who
wants to can over hear Ah's or Rathan's various comments. One might want to
notice that the demonic insectoid is at least as good as anyone else in taking
down these goblins. Two other points, Rathan and Ah will be leaving after the
Goblin attack to care of the King. Finally, during most of the trip, Rathan was
basically comatose. I have gotten around to writing up the reason for this,
but I should get done soon.]
