Foxmore says:
>"Hey, Jones." he speaks up. "Did you mention that once we get to the city
>we'll all need to be in mufi? (ie not decked out like mercs)
>
>"Hopefully, you won't need your armament as much as your wits." Sticking
>out his hand, Foxmore adds, "I'm Foxmore, my friends sometimes call me
>Foxie, you know...smart like a fox." # and they'd best NOT be smiling. ;)

Jones nods in agreement, and adds "We need to go in low profile at
first. There is a variety of clothing on the wagon; find something
that will let you fit in. We've got some 'useful idiots' inside...
<Jones grins wolfishly>. {By now, Jones is suitably attired as
a bureaucrat, with his weapons well concealed}

BD and Bodger say:

>"Calm down, Big B!" Bodger tells the dragon, "We'll be off converting
>people in no time." The thaumaturgist scratches his unshaven chin,
>"We need a title for you, I think How about -
>BD, Infallible Overlord of Sooner-than-instant Death?" He beams at
>his own witticism. "What does everyone else think?"

Jones chuckles and says "Anyone who is both god and king ought
to have a good title...but have you considered something simple
yet powerful such as "The Overlord"; implying, of course, that
there is only one supreme being deserving such a title. Although,
says Jones, you might consider a bit of propaganda....a title such
as "Guardian" implies that you take care of the people, defending
them from outside enemies. What do you think BD?"

>But of course, things need to be done. With Rathan no-longer going
>to kill Good King Olaf, and intrigue to be furtively performed in the
>nearby Capital of Clarehill, the party started once more on it's way,
>the conversation continuing as the journey does.

Jones says to Bodger "No problem on Rathan...I never *_was_*
comfortable with just banishing Olaf. Much better not to have
a living enemy...."

Henderson says:

> Henderson frowns "my parents made me confess my sins every second
>weekend. I am not overly into the whole Thou Shalt not Kill thing. I
>suppose the others don't matter much anyway. I guess I have never had
>a reason to believe in much but myself and my comrades. I now believe
>in Dragons. I'm glad to be on his side."

>Henderson loads his weapon and thanks Jones for the ammunition.
>His eyes gleam as he says "You are very trusting, but you do have good
>reason. You believe in me or you believe in yourself. Trust in either
>is well founded. "

Jones grins and says "You've got to run with your hunches. By the
way, did the folks in Delta ever talk about a Soviet explosive called
Red Mercury?"

>Henderson places the glock in its shoulder holster and turns to his
>bag. Removing his .50 high powered sniping rifle. Within seconds his
>well trained hands have the weapon assembled. He fastens the
>telescopic sight in position and checks the magazine. Slinging the
>rifle over his shoulder. He mutters "One shot equals One Kill."

Jones chuckles and says "Ah, yes...reaching out to touch someone
I see..."

>pretty well. However, I digress, we do need to blend in. Taking out a
>small nation state is no mean feat even for this group.Thats right
>boys I'm in. Sounds like fun how about we move out."

The group proceeds at a reasonably good rate, and soon stops in a
small wooded area. Jones tells the group that a planned meeting
is going to take place with Good King Olaf's men.
Jones rummages around in some of the weapons
in the wagon and eventually locates a crossbow, a bolt, and some
red cloth. After a bit of struggling, the weapon is loaded and the
bolt is fired vertically. Within a few minutes, a contingent of
30 well armed members of King Olaf's personal guard ride up.

Jones greets them warmly and says "Good afternoon, Captain!
Glad to see that you're punctual."

Captain Jorgenson responds "King Olaf is grateful that you and
the Company responded so quickly to our request for help.
There are many people vying for the crown...especially a certain
Duke. Do you have the weapons we were promised? Are your
people prepared to help us find the traitors? And why, why on
earth, are you traveling with a *_stinking_* wyrm?"

Jones raises an eyebrow and says to Jorgenson "The wagon is
filled with the first shipment of weapons. After my team
analyzes the situation, we'll arrange further aid as necessary.
As you can see, we already have our clandestine ID's in place,
and we're ready to start operations. BD, by the way, is one of
my most trusted associates...and, had we not had him around,
the goblin attack we dealt with could have been a problem.
He will support King Olaf as loyally as will I! Anyway, it would
be appreciated if you would assure the townspeople that BD is
only present as a friend, there to protect the people and defend
them from their enemies. By the way, is there a church in
town? BD and my sister are engaged....<Jones winks at BD,
in hopes that he'll play along to confuse the Captain>...we might
need to arrange a wedding...Of course, BD will be an overt ally.
The rest of us will be clandestine, as we find the source of the
disruptions...

Captain Jorgenson is more than a little uncomfortable with
the situation, and mutters something about "...better to fight
an honest battle with swords and muscle than all these spies;
but we need there help..." and something else about "....married?
In the name of all that's holy!...."

The cargo of time-appropriate weapons is soon unloaded
by the troops, and the cargo rearranged. Horses are brought
for those who wish to ride them, and Captain Jorgenson
hands various royal papers, signed by King Olaf, to the
team members. When he comes to BD, he just shakes his head
in amazement as he places a document which names BD as
"Special friend of the King, and Protector of the Realm" in
BD's large talons. A blanket amnesty document is given to
Jones, declaring all acts by him and those with him
to be in the name of the King, and hence legal.

The party, now with a military escort, proceeds toward
Clarehill and as dusk approaches, the travelers see the city
gate as they round a corner of the road...Jones says to the
Captain "What with the goblin problems, it's fortunate
that you escorted all of us...which will cover our coming in
together. That alright with you, Captain?"

Captain Jorgenson responds "Fine. Fine. Whatever."
He then looks at BD again, shakes his head, and says
"Jones and a Black Dragon, brothers in law. It figures."
He then rides ahead...while Jones chuckles..

[Please feel free to put some comments and additions
in! Think of Captain Jorgenson as a rather traditional,
career military type; all too easily scandalized, but
so loyal to Good King Olaf that he'll do his duty anyway!]
