+Since this thread started, an amazing volume of critical comments
+have been directed at it; this has been particularly surprising
+insofar as the FAQ specifically states a policy of non-interference.

Non-interference means, nobody can join a thread without invitation
once it's closed by the thread controllers. CIA has not really been
"closed" by that measure since there is no "thread controller" per
se. Non-interference also means, nobody will start posting into
the story thread with segments that wreck the flow of the story.

That means, for instance, that I won't post a story where the high
priest comes and zot's the blasphemer dragon into lizard cutlets,
nor will I post a story where the king's spies poison the gruel
that Jones is eating. Nor will I post a story where the king's
advisers kill him in his sleep, taking over the government before
the CIA folks can do the job.

It doesn't mean I won't comment in email or in public posts about
the story. Nobody who posts to the group is going to get away without
some comment. Most people get positive comments. You might want to
think about why you're getting negative comments, if that's all you're
getting. One hint though -- people don't generally cheer for the
bad guy, and that's what you've set yourselves up as.

+a). We are in a largely undeveloped and unexplored portion of the
+overall fantasy world. Hence, our actions do not clash with, nor
+do they modify or eliminate, existing development by other or prior
+posters.

Right. Exactly. We appreciate it.

+b). As numerous other posters have done and are doing, we are in
+a parallel (but not equivalent) universe; thus, while the places
+and people may appear to be the same as in Generica, this is not,
+technically speaking, Generica. Hence, if any such rules against
+gunpowder and the use thereof are existent, they are rendered null,
+void, and moot via this device.

If you've gone off-nexus you should make that clearer. We know you
aren't in Generica the city.
