The man was still unconscious, which was only to be expected, Kal thought, considering the severity of his wounds. She didn't seriously expect his to be fully conscious for at least another day. But he did look a little better than he had before. Kal poured another dose of medicine down his throat, then sat on a nearby chair, watching him idly. "Well, well, well," she said, hearing Fire's music start up from downstairs, "I guess it's just you and me for a while, friend. Have any ideas how to spend the evening?" She glanced at his silent form. "No? I guess not. Too bad. I was kind of hoping you could tell me where you're from and all - I mean, red skin like yours, though attractive, is not something I've encountered before." She sighed, pulled out on of her crystal spheres, looked at it, shrugged, then put it back. "I suppose it might be better to get you some broth - you need to have something in your stomach, you know. It wouldn't do to save a patient's life, then starve him to death. I'll be right back - don't go away." Kal returned a few minutes later, carrying a small bowl filled with a steaming broth. "You should hear Fire down there - she's really playing up a storm. By the way, I hope you like beef broth - it was all they had down there. Not exactly what I'd recommend, but better than nothing. I'll try to be careful, though - it's pretty hot, and I don't want to burn....." Kal trailed off and stared in amazement at her patient. His eyes were open and focused in her direction.
