Subject: [Party] Everyone Invited To A Founders' Day Party
Lines: 66

ADMIN: This is an invitation, extended to everyone...please read.

I was engaged in idle conversation with some of the Rabble when
I noticed a smallish man walk into the inn. Sure, many people walk
through those doors, but this man proceeded directly to the bulliten
board. Curious (and truthfully bored with the endless boasting babble
of the rude Rabble), I decided to investigate.
I approached him slowly, and from the side so he could see me
coming. As I neared, I took in his odd appearance. His hair was
raven black and hanging straight to his shoulders. His skin was
golden-brown; it reminded me of honey or perhaps the color of the
Island people's skin after a summer in the sun. He was short in
stature and had the graceful looks of the elvish people, but his
features were not as angular, implying that he had mixed blood.
Theses traits were not unusual in themselves since many races
travel to Generica for its mild weather and good trading. It was his
cloak that really piqued my interest. It was the deepest BLACK
that I had ever seen, it blended with the shadows of the room and
swirled around the man like some ghostly aura.
I was about to reach out and touch the cloth when the man
glanced at me and smiled. "How does it look?" he asked with
a twinkle in his ice-blue eyes.
The lettering on the paper was large and ornate, written
with a purple ink that drew attention. The paper was thick
and covered with brightly colored flecks of some shiny material
which was woven into the sheet. "Looks nice to me," I said,
"but I can't read. What does it say?"
"Oh, well it says that I am having a party at my house in
the Elven Quarter. It's to celebrate Founders' Day. It won't be
anything fancy, just some food, some music, and good conversation.
It's going to be a 'pot luck' where everyone brings something to
eat and to share with the other guests. I figured I'd get a wider
variety of food that way and everyone would have at least one thing
that they liked to eat. After the food, I thought we'd relax and
tell free-form stories --"
"What's a 'free-form story'?" I asked, interested in the event.
"It's where one person starts a story and the other people take
turns building on it. It usually ends up sounding like a children's
fairy tale, but it's good for a few laughs.
"So, if you're interested, come to my house. It's a large tree
which has been bent and shaped into a house over the years. If you
can't find it, ask for Luthor Anside's house or for 'ShadeHaven'.
Things should get started around noon and last until sunrise." He
waited for me to accept his invitation.
"Sure, I'd be glad to come."
"I'll see you in a couple of days then." He bowed politely and
moved off to talk to the barkeep.

ADMIN: Alt.Pub.Dragons-Inn will be celebrating its third anniversary
on May 12th. As per tradition, I'll be hosting a little party
in ShadeHaven. Everyone is welcome as long as you don't cause
       a major fight.

Luthor will cook and serve a lot of vegitarian food...spiced
rices and potatoes, stir-fry broccoli, stuffed mushrooms,
fresh breads, cakes and pastries, fresh fruits with a chocolate
fondue, etc... Guests may bring whatever food they would like
as long as it's legal (in other words, Trawm will not be allowed
to bring a live Halfling to slaughter and munch on at the party).

If you have any questions, suggestions, or whatever, e-mail me.
I'll probably post the beginning of the party on May 10th.

Love and Peace and Friendly Get-Togethers,
                     -The Dreamer-
