Jac entered the Inn and saw a group of people clustered about the
bulletin board. He wandered over to that area and read Luthor's
party notice over their shoulders. He started to walk slowly
toward the stairs, seeming preoccupied. Then his eyes lit up, he
briefly flashed a mischievous grin, and he seemed to be scanning
the common room. The grin returned, and he strode quickly to
Kadrys' table.

"Hello, old friend," Jac said softly.

Kadrys looked up at Jac, and gave him a crooked smile.

"Well hello there. I hardly recognised you out of your ... party
finery." Amusement glinted in his eyes and he nudged a chair
toward Jac with one foot.

Jac chuckled as he seated himself. "I assume you've already seen
or heard about Luthor's party."

"Oh yes," Kadrys glanced toward the board on the far wall, the
various scraps of paper showing indistinctly in the smoky air.
"I noticed."

"Thought you might." He flashed a grin. "The 'pot luck' aspect
of it caught my eye, and as I was considering what I ought to be
eating, I had to wonder whether one of those options wouldn't
work for you as well. I never asked you about this before
because it didn't seem to matter, but--does game blood work for
you? At least if fresh?"

Kadrys' smile sharpened. "Oh yes, it 'works'. As long as the
donor's alive. I suppose it'd be possible for me to abstain from
people indefinitely, but that would be sooo ... unsatisfying." he
purred lasciviously.

"No doubt it would. Tasteless food is sooo boring."

"...Thanks for your offer, Jac," he added in brighter tones,
"It'll be fun to hunt together. It's been quite some time since
I've 'wolfed my food'."

"Most excellent," he chortled. "So, any thoughts on the
logistics? I suspect that some of the guests might be a tad
unsettled by a high-speed chase and kill, after all."

Kadrys nodded. "Yes, especially since our host's a vegetarian.
And the careful landscaping of an elvish garden is _no_ place to
hunt!" he grinned. "Well, the Great Forest's at Generica's
doorstep. It seems to me that would be a convenient place for us
to ...dine. Heh, we could even bring back a little contribution
to the festivities, a fresh haunch or two of venison. We could
meet at the Southgate, that's the closest to the Elven quarter.
Perhaps an hour before the start of the party?"

Jac bit his tongue momentarily, as his eyes danced. After a few
seconds, he replied, "It's a plan."
