This is a spin-off thread from an earlier one that was started by Liz and
myself. All those interested can e-mail me at jimmoore@eden.rutgers.edu with
their insights.

Azurecon stepped from the doorway of the Stumble Inn. He paused
briefly to light up a cigar and then strode off into the darkness. Quickly
his eyes fell into infravision as he got deeper into the night. Over the
years his senses had become keener through his work as a hunter and as a
killer, and right now he could tell he was being followed. Silently he ducked
into an alleyway and drew a dagger. His pursuer didn't come into view.
Quickly he turned around to go and came face to face with a girl. She was
dressed like a thief. Her face and body showed him a girl of no older than
seventeen, but her eyes showed a wisdom far beyond her years. Without any
hesitation he spun around and saw a second figure, a man this time. "We have
you now, you cannot escape us. The bounty on your head would keep a king
comfortable for the rest of his life," said the girl. Azurecon just looked
back and forth between his two would-be assailants.

"You won't escape us this time, Azurecon," said a third voice as the
face that matched it came from the shadows.

"It'll take more than the three of you to get me. I've faced down
armies before with no problems, do you really think that you'll take me any
easier?" Azurecon's tone was smug and confident.

The three assailants moved in for the kill. Without any warning
Azurecon spun around and threw the dagger into the throat of the first man.
Without so much as a twitch the man pulls the dagger from his throat and
hands it back to Azurecon and smiles. "Vampires," muttered Azurecon aloud
as he reached into his pocket. Two more vampires stepped from the darkness
and began to advance.

"Throw it!" yelled a voice from the darkness behind two of the
vampires. Ghaunden Hyluan steps from the darkness and beheads the two
vampires in front of him. With that Azurecon throws down a flash charge and
blinds the vampires. And with much haste the two Elves run off back towards
the Stumble Inn

"We'll get you Azurecon, make no mistake about that! You can't run
from us forever, we have all of eternity to catch you."

All interested paties should intervene now...
